Beginning this Sunday the Neighbourhood Church will be observing the season of Advent. Advent comes from a Latin word meaning “coming” and is a period of waiting and preparation for Christmas. Advent spans the four Sundays prior to Christmas. Each Sunday a different theme of the season is celebrated: hope, joy, peace, and love. This year at the Neighbourhood someone from our church will light a candle, lead us in a reading, and share a personal reflection on the week’s theme.
